Commercial and online sports betting is prohibited in mainland China. The only legal, state-sanctioned gambling is the government-run China Sports Lottery and Welfare Lottery. There is no licensing regime for private bookmakers or online sportsbooks, and authorities actively block offshore gambling sites and pursue cross-border gambling operations.

Any international “betting site” targeting mainland players is doing so illegally. It has no Chinese licence, no local accountability, and offers you no legal protection. Promoting or ranking such sites as “the best” would be dishonest and would put readers at real legal and financial risk — so we won’t.

Note that Hong Kong and Macau are separate jurisdictions with their own rules (a betting monopoly and a licensed casino industry, respectively). This guide concerns mainland China, where those regimes do not apply.
