The Trust Score, in the open
The SportsWhizz Oracle gives every bookmaker a Trust Score out of 100. This page shows exactly what goes into it — and, just as importantly, what does not.
Right now the Trust Score is licence-and-feature based. It is computed only from real, checkable facts we already hold about each book. We have not yet run live payout tests and we hold no independent complaint-resolution data. So:
- Confidence is marked Low for every book — we won’t pretend otherwise.
- There are no “measured payout” figures and no regulator “verification” dates anywhere in the data — those fields are deliberately empty.
- Nothing in the score is invented. Every point traces back to a field you can see on the bookmaker’s review.
Confidence rises when we do the work: (1) run a live payout test — deposit, bet, withdraw and time it; (2) verify each licence on the regulator’s own register with a date; (3) gather independent complaint and dispute-resolution data over time.
The formula
Four weighted factors, adding to 100, applied identically to every bookmaker. Licensing is weighted the heaviest because a real, current licence is the strongest checkable signal that you’ll actually be paid and treated fairly.
The tier of the strongest licence the book actually holds. Top-tier (UKGC / MGA / Gibraltar / Isle of Man / Ontario-class) scores highest; a strong national regulator such as South Africa’s WCGRB is close behind; a mid-tier Curaçao licence is in the middle; a weak-oversight (Anjouan-class) licence is docked because it offers little real player protection. No licence at all scores near zero.
Our hands-on 0–5 rating of the bookmaker, scaled up to 30. It reflects the reliability and fairness of the experience across the things we can check — terms, verification friction, reputation of the operator group.
The bookmaker’s PUBLISHED payout speed (not a speed we have measured) plus how resilient its payment mix is — a book that supports both crypto and fiat scores higher than one tied to a single rail.
Breadth of sports and markets, plus whether the book offers live streaming and cash-out. Operational maturity, weighted the lightest.
The 0–100 total maps to a band: 85+ Very high, 70–84 High, 55–69 Above average, 40–54 Below average, 25–39 Low, under 25 Very low. With today’s licence-and-feature-only model, no book reaches the top bands — that headroom is reserved for scores backed by measured evidence.
A worked example — YesPlay
Here is every point behind YesPlay’s score of 74/100 (High). Nothing hidden:
The lines we won’t cross
- No fabricated evidence. We never invent a payout measurement, a complaint resolution, or a regulator verification date. If we haven’t done it, the field is empty and confidence stays Low.
- Commission never touches a score. What a bookmaker pays us plays zero part in its Trust Score.
- Fully reproducible. Every point comes from a field on the book’s review — you can re-derive the number yourself.
- It only goes up with proof. Higher confidence and higher scores are earned by measured evidence, not by opinion.
