How we rate bookmakers
Every bookmaker on SportsWhizz gets a score out of 5, computed from four weighted pillars — the things that actually matter to a bettor, not what an operator pays us. Here's the whole model, in the open.
A real, current licence verified on the regulator's own register; ownership transparency; complaint history and how the operator handles disputes and withheld payouts.
How competitive the prices are across major markets, and the built-in margin (overround). Better odds mean bigger payouts over time — so this is weighted heavily.
How fast withdrawals actually land (not the advertised time), payment options including crypto, and any restrictive limits or verification friction.
Depth of sports and markets, live/in-play betting, streaming, cash-out, and the quality of the mobile experience.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Commission never touches a score. Ranking is set purely by the model above. What a bookmaker pays us plays zero part in its rating or position.
- We show the cons. Every review lists the downsides — weak licences, slow payouts, restrictive terms — not just the highlights.
- Licence first. If we can't verify a current licence for the exact site we'd send you to, we don't recommend it.
- We update. Odds, bonuses and payout policies change; reviews carry a "last updated" date and we revisit them.
- No tips, ever. We rate where to bet — we never sell predictions. No AI or system beats the bookmaker's margin.
Spotted something wrong?
If a rating looks off, a licence has lapsed, or a bookmaker's payouts have slipped, tell us — we'd rather fix it than defend it. Email admin@sportswhizz.com.
